jof
This is a picture of my female Mandarin. What do you think about that fat belly? Is this normal or can this be allot of eggs? (I also have a male Mandarin) Link to comment
jof
update time: Everything runs very nice and the corals are starting to grow very fast. The Mandarins still have eggs every week but the eggs look not fertilized. So i don't collect them anymore. I also bought 3 Azure Damselfish and one RBTA that split within 3 days Link to comment

jof
My foxface is so big that i had to bring it back to my LFS. I also brought back my angel because from one day to an other the angel starts to eat all my sps. It never did that before. And he doesn't stop. So out he goes. I also installed a filter with biopellets. To fight algea. Link to comment
jof
I added a filter with Rowaphos and a korallin calcium reactor and a korallin biodenitrator. For the first time in 4 years the phosphate is almost 0. From 1.0 to 0.03. And nitrates are reduced from 20 to 2.5. Finally my sps corals start to grow! Fast..... Link to comment

jof
The corals are colored brighter and they grow faster. One sps coral grows about 1" a month. Link to comment
jof
On april 30th one of my corals died when my tank was 3 years . It killed all my other corals and almost all my fish. So everything is dead. The animals that survived are a few shrimps and 4 fish. The corals that are attached to the glass of the tank died to but i could get them off. I bought a new tank. The Eheim MP Scubacube 270 Marine. I will start over again. And i will never ever buy palys again!!! Pics will follow. Link to comment
metrokat
WHAT THE EFF HAPPENED IN HERE! Speak!!! Was it that mountain of palys? They died? palytoxin? Link to comment
jof
My water was ok. 0 nitrates and 0 phosphates. But On that day all the palys started to dump brown stuff into the water. Why!?!? I don't know! It smelled bad. And in one day all my other corals died. The water smelled very bad aswell as my room. I pulled out all the dead corals and fish asap. And did a few big wc's. But it didn't help. I have left: 3 cleaner shrimps 3 crabs 1 pistol shrimp 1 blue velvet damsel 1 azure damsel 2 dragonets That's it. Link to comment
metrokat
Aww hell. I'm sorry that happened. Was the water slimy or the dead corals sliming? What about carbon were you running that when this happened? Pics? Link to comment
jof
Yes, i used carbon and alot more after it happened. But it didn't help. The carbon sucked up some stuff because the carbon smelled bad. What's left: 0 fish 0 shrimps 0 corals 3 crabs..... Link to comment
jof
Time for a new update! I started all over with a new tank. The MP Eheim Scubacube 270 270 liter tank + 40 liter sump 65x65x65 cm White glass I used all the equipment of the last tank. Maxspect G2 230W Cree Korallin Calciumreactor + biodenitrator GHL profilux 3 EX New stuff: Ecotech vortech MP40 Aqua medic turboflotor blue It is running for about a month. It started with alot of algae but my new yellow tang knows how to deal with it. The sneals already produced a lot of eggs and the corals are coloring up nicely. Water quality is very good nitrates and phosphates are 0 and pH = 8,05 to 8,20 So it is a good start and hopefully this tank last longer than the other tank! Link to comment
