cfuller
Hello everyone, I have been lurking for a week or two now and have finally decided to post. I'm just now getting back into this hobby after about a 10 year break. Before I had a 55g fish only tank. This time around I have decided that I want a reef tank(mainly zoas and mushrooms) and my daughter wants a clownfish or two. I bought a Biocube 29g(stock) from someone last week and we set it up this past weekend. He said he didn't use a heater but, I put in therm. yesterday and my temps isn't getting up above about 72 to 74. So I'm going to get a heater today. Also, took out the bioballs at the suggestion of my LFS. Added about 30 lbs of live rock(Half of it was cured and half was about half way cured) and 1 bag of live sand. My tank has been going for 5 days now and no algae like I see others have. Could it be because the temp is too low? Water Params at 5 days are: Ph 8.0 Ammonia .25 Nitrite .5 Nitrate 10 Thanks in advance! Link to comment
mkregs
I'd get a heater in and get your temp up to 78~80. Don't worry...algae will come..and quite possibly you will have more than you want eventually. Link to comment
