Rock from where? If it's from a vendor, just rinse it in RO/DI water and plop it in. If it's from the beach or the hardware store, put it back and buy it from a vendor.

Are you wanting to add dry rock to an already established tank? If you do that you will probably have a mini cycle. Even tho it's dry it still has some dead organic matter that can cause a cycle.

And macro? Do you mean Marco rock (like the vendor?)

Yes, it's Marco rock

I filled 90% of my tank with it. If you are going to add more rock to an established tank it needs to be fully cured or you will most likely get a mini cycle (like I said before :) )

in my experience, the marco rock looked pretty clean, but definitely still had some crap in it to shed off. I'd throw it in a bucket fulla saltwater with a maxijet 1200 and a small piece of live rock for two or three weeks. Every few days use the powerhead to blow into the rock and blow out the debris and crap. Maybe change out the water around day 10 or 14, then give it another 6 or 7 days... good to go.

I got some Marco rock to do my rock wall. He is running a $10 shipping/box special right now. The rock is pretty clean but I would definately clean it off in RO water first. Mine had dead critters in it like bristle worms and such.

tuffa rock?.....it comes in red or white.....ive used the white w/o problems.....the red scares me.....red in rocks usually means iron....even if its man made......it will eventually disolve.....id go with some good base rock.....the mini cycle they talk about really isnt that bad.....its mini......just rinse the rock good....i like the bucket idea
