Jenna
My husband discovered an odd little thing in our tank. I've already checked both Melev's and Marine Depot's hitchhiker pages and didn't see this thing. It appears to be soft bodied because it can move itself around fairly easily though I haven't touched it to find out. It seems to extend out from itself if that makes sense. Also, it is nocturnal. Its only out at night and I had to use a flash to catch it. Without further ado, here are several consecutive shots of it. Any ideas? Is it a friend? Is it a foe? Link to comment

fishtooth
look up and see if you think it's a peanut worm. If it is then they are ok to keep. Link to comment
Jenna
Well, as I said it doesn't match anything I seen on Marine Depot or Melev's including their pics of peanut worms. BUT I Googled it and a couple of images did look like it and it is a peanut worm. One pic solved the mystery of the little pokey things coming out of a different hole. Its what the peanut worm's "mouth" looks like. Thanks for suggesting it! I'm glad its a good guy! look up and see if you think it's a peanut worm. If it is then they are ok to keep. Link to comment
revaltion131
Yes, it's a Peanut Worm's feeding tube. Harmless and fine to leave-in. Link to comment
Psychosis
I just found a peanut worm the other day. How did you get pics of yours? I saw a little tube moveing, so I shined a light in the tank just in time to see this beige peanut worm retracting. Link to comment
Jenna
It only seems to come out when the main lights are off. I run my Lunar lights all night so I was able to see when it was out and about. Then I took the photos using the flash on my camera so I could leave the tank lights off.
