coralcor
so did you just cut off the flaps that hang down on the side of the skimmer? "What I did with the skimmer is just cut about an inch , maybe less off the bottom with a dremel rotory saw. That allowed the skimmer to sink into the sump a little lower which made the foam rise to just the right height. I had the tank for a year before the mod and the foam in the skimmer was always abit too low to skim properly as most red sea owners know. Since the mod the skimmer is much more efficient." thats what the guy i bought it from said he did Link to comment
coralcor
ok i did some tests they were all good just a top down shot full tank shot i had to go buy a new heater my other one broke. glass broke. good thing it broke all in one peice, so i only had to fish one peice out...... to bad it fell in to the CHAMBER OF DEATH!! took like an 1/2 hour to get it out lol Link to comment
StevieT
The easiest way to get into the chamber of death is to take the hinge pins out. Then block up the hood and dive in Link to comment

masterbuilder
and what is this? If your talking about the brownish palys in the front. Most call them button polyps. Some people think they are too plain .... but...they are actually one of my faves, very under-rated. They can get a nice green center under the right conditions and glow nicely under actinics. Mine liked lower light, so might want too keep them near the bottom and off to the side. Under high light they wont color up very much. Good looking tank so far...so let it settle awhile ..then FILL IT UP with corals. Will be tagging along. Link to comment

StevieT
The monti cap doesn't look so hot. The white areas are most likely dead. If it doesn't improve in a few days remvoe those areas. It didn't look good even when you took your first few pictures. Link to comment
