bbronson
I just started up a Red Sea Max 34 gallon tank. I have live sand and live rock, but found a crab that must be a hitchhiker. It's about an inch wide, whitish grey, and has black pointed pincers. I've been trying to get a picture but haven't yet been able to. He (she?) hasn't done any harm that I can see, I recently added 3 turbo snails and 4 hermit crabs. Any ideas what it might be and if it's dangerous to my tank once I add fish? Link to comment
Psychosis
If I had to guess, I'd say it was a mithrax crab. Generally those with pointy pinchers are considered to be bad, and should be removed. Especially if its hairy. Link to comment
ddr_phish
Welcome to Nano-Reef It may not pose a problem now, but its generally accepted that pointed pinchers means it will start to eat your livestock. Link to comment

Thanks, but what do I do with it, that is if I can catch it? It isn't hairy by the way. Link to comment
