VorTech MP20 placement

OK, I'm trying to figure out the placement of my overflow, return and VorTech. I have a 17" cube that is going into a corner, so I have two backs (and two fronts). I'm thinking of putting my glass-holes overflow and return on one back panel, and the VorTech on the other. Any recommendations on how far below the surface the VorTech should be? And how far away from the side?

2-3" below the surface and in the middle is where mine is. Also on the wet side there's the grate and then on that is a solid flat piece I think is an anti-vortex and you want that facing upwards so you don't pull in air from the surface.

Nope, it would probably be a good thing to use if it got rinsed regularly but I'm gone alot so it would just be getting clogged up.
