How to do an Iodine dip?

I decided some of my corals need iodine dips

But I need to know

 

1. how much do I use?

2. how long do I soak for?

3. Can I use store bought 2% Iodine?

I personally recommend using either Lugol's Iodine solution (several brand names that you'll find at LFSs make it) or SeaChem's Reef-Dip solution. The article that Stevie linked to is a veru good one to follow! Good luck.

but can I use regular iodine? thats the BIGGEST Q

I would stick to aquarium specific Iodine. Not sure its the same concentration as regular Iodine.
