poeticas
I'm thinking about putting a 55W CSL PC retro on an Eclipse II hood for my 20 gal tank. Has anyone tried this arrangement before. I guess the 33 W PC's are designed to fit and the 55 W retro would be pretty big, but probably still do-able. Would appreciate your ideas. Link to comment
djlanius
If it's a 20 long (30" long) it will definitely work. Mine's not an Eclipse so I don't know the dimensions of an Eclipse II, but the 55W CSL is designed to fit hoods for 24" tanks, the actual length of the end cap & bulb is 22.5". Just measure the hood & see if it fits. I'd definitely use the 55 if it fits. Link to comment
ltbt8
Hi, the 55w retro fits on the second hood between the filter box and the front hood. That way you can keep the original lights. I did it on my Eclipse 3 and it works great. I held a retro in an Eclipse 2 and it seemed to fit. Good Luck!!!! Link to comment

poeticas
Does anyone know if I can attach waterproof endcaps that have three wires to my CSL ballast that has four wires? Two of them are meant to connect with an on/off switch. Link to comment
