80 degrees is a common temp to keep a reef tank at. That should not be causing a problem. But it would help to know the problem your having to be sure.

How 'bout posting test results so we know what it was you tested for.

Also stick to the original thread so people know what you're talking about.

This can be normal behavior. We won't know for sure unless you post your water parameters. Also what type of lighting do you have?

Those water parameters look good, so does the lighting. Calcium, akalinity, salinity also need to be tested.

How long has your tank been set up?

My tank has been u for nearly a year now. Also,I buy only RO water from the same pet shop always. Its the same water they use in their own 100 gal reef tank.

I use instant ocean and salinity is 1.022.

Just did a water change last night too.I did notice I have LOTS of pods all over the place.I mean they're swarming all over the place!

Think that may be it?

Your salinity is a bit low, raise to 1.025. I don't think pods could cause the closing up of polyps. Have you tested your calcium & akalinity levels?

I dont have an alkaline test....only ph.

I will adjust salinity as you said .

Also....I recently put a piece of ornamental rock from petco in.Not sure if that would cause any problems.

I also put new pc bulbs in last week.Could they be adjusting to the brighter lights?

Yes that would cause problems if it is uncured live rock. What type of rock is it?

It looks like a piece of lava rock, only its white.should I remove it?

Lava rock is usually not recommended for reef tanks because of the possibility of metals leaching into the water.
