Hi..

I think it time to show my little wonder to the uk audience .

Im a frequent visitor of this forum but i didnt post very often..

Well thats maybe because im Dutch.. and im also very bussy on the Dutch forums.

For example ( zeewaterforum.nl ) ... euh yes its fully in dutch.

I started my RSM September '07

As all Red sea max owners,i did the usual modifications.

But i did a additional modification which only e few in the netherland did also..

I built in a Flora-mate light computer.. whith a Evsa ( 1-10 V ) Dimable port.

this small light computer fits in the hoot of the RSM and works fine on the 12V tranformator which also controls the fans.

infact you need to use that.. becaus the computer runs a dimming program as soon as there is power on it.

so the "mechanical" timer switches on the lights ( and fans) and the computer.

this device need to be programmed before you put it in the hoot.

so it starts running this program.

for example: ( my situation )

The mechanical timer starts at 11:00 ( the computer is set to 1% light intensity )

than it built up it lights intensity to 100% in one and a half hour

So it will be an 100% at 12:30

from there on it will stay that way.. till 20:30..

and i set the computer to start dimming from there..

at 22:00 the light intensity wil reach 1% again.. than also independed of the computer the mechanical timer will turn the whole lighting off.. ( and offcourse night leds on )

My RSM is equipt with

Hydor flo

Hailea HC150 Chiller

Flora-mate light computer

Standard skimmer ( which i lowered with 1.5 cm )

also some desciptions ( in dutch) with photo's HERE

i post my tank photo tomorrow so the most rescent setup is shown

( this picture is a little fuzzy)

WELCOME to NR. Nice set up! Are you still using the stock skimmer?

Yes the stock skimmer is still in..

I lowered it with 1,5 cm!! (saw)

Not that it works very much better.. but still.. it helps a bit!!

Sexy Shrimp

I love how your stock is so mature and has all mingled into each other but still there is a balance. It's lovely. And your scooter looks fat and happy :)

I may have missed it but you still have the stock lighting? Also where did you cut the skimmer?

Yes i still got the 2x55 watt standard lighting.. ( added a light computer for sunrise and set )

I cut the skimmer at the bottem.. ( shorten his feet)

Does that seem to help at all? Also have you ever thought about trying to use like a maxi jet for a better pump? I dont know if it will fit though.

Thanks!

Beautiful tank.

I absolutely love that GSP on the back. I am waiting for mine to grow out some more before attaching it to the back wall. I've seen complete return pipes and other equipment covered in GSP and it looks amazing!
