CollegeNano Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I just set up a tank for my girlfriend about two weeks ago. We found a flatworm on the glass today. The plan is only to keep softies in the tank. What exactly is harmful about the flatworms? We plan on trying to remove them but are they dangerous to soft corals or only SPS and LPS? Thanks!
Weetabix7 Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I prefer to just kill every other one and save some for my Aceteminophors.

lakshwadeep Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Acropora eating flatworms only affect acroporas, and it's probably likewise for other coral-eating flatworms. The clear acoel flatworms are harmless (go to bottom of link): http://www.chucksaddiction.com/hitchworms.html
sdunkin Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I had issues with flatworms smothering my zoa polyps. I used FWE and even though I had to dose it 3 times, I have not had any issues yet (knock on wood lol).
The Nomad Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Unless it's the rusty colored ones, or the AEFW, they are usually harmless.
CollegeNano Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 it is the rusty/brown ones. Looks like I"m getting FWE asap!
