ElegantSpoon
Hellooo all I am having trouble in my tank with green algae thats like fur. It came in on a small hermit crab I bought and has spread all over my rock and is starting to sprout on the sand. Whats the best way to get rid of this? Is it ok to use a toothbrush to scrub it off the rock in the tank? Its really getting on my nerves as the tank looks so dirty! I appreciate any info on how to get rid of this! Thanx in advance! JerseyChick
The bivalves in my tank usually climb onto what ever has it and they eat it up. My mexican was covered in hair algea and in less than four hours the bivalves and one hermit had it totally off him Link to comment

I've never heard of herbivorous bivalves that eat hair algae. Link to comment

masterbuilder
A turbo snail made quick work of mine when I had it. Once it was gone for sure...gave the turbo back to the LFS. They are too big for a nano tank. Link to comment
