bossyboy Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I just set up a 2.5g pico reef and my tank's temperature is at about 84 F if I keep the room cool and the room lights off. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions, the hood already has two of it's sides removed and there is a lot of space for heat to escape. If i really need to I can use ice in a ziploc bag.
bberning Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Maybe try a fan on the surface. Surface evaporation does wonders. Take sweating for instance. The only problem might be too much evaporation for such a small water volume.
joneh Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 retard scratch the eggcrate i gave you and go to a computer supply store and purchase a fan. Install it in the top of your hood so the hot air gets sucked out... ps told you that you wouldnt need a heater

bberning Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Try to find something like this azoo fan. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod...fm?pcatid=14701
bossyboy Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 ok, i found fans that will fit into my hood for about $10 and i can get the AC/DC adapter for about $7.50 to wire it up. They're only around 16CFM but i figured since the hood is only 12"x6"x3" it will work.
