Colt Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 What are the main differences between anemone shrimp and sexy anemone shrimp, as seen on http://reefscavengers.com Are they just different types of anemone shrimp? I really like the way the anemone shrimp look, but are they as small and easy as sexy shrimp are? I have a 3.5 gallon with a cleaner shrimp being the only other inhabitant, how many of either type of shrimp can I safely keep? Thanks
RayWhisperer Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 That's a lot of questions in a small post. As far as sexy's go, I have some experience. Mine don't even go near my nems. They do however, like to stick to anthelia, GSP and gorgonians. I have read they will hide on the underside of nems when they feel threatened. Having nothing in my tank with them to threaten them. Perhaps this is why they don't even go near the nems. I don't think you'd have a problem with putting them in with a cleaner shrimp, but I can't be sure. The anemone shrimp looks to be a Pederson's shrimp. I'm not positive, but I believe they are obligate hosts to specific types of anemones. Meaning they need a particular species of anemone to survive. As I said, I'm not sure, so you may want to check that out on your own.
