hm m so retard since i have no idea if my skimmer works correctly.

I install Tunze nano doc skimmer in my 12g. it has been a day or so. My question is how does it really work. The manual doesnt say much....M just curious if the skimmer will blow the bubble and produce foam in the collection cup but mine only blow bubble like half way and the cup is empty (for now during the running-in phrase) but will it collect dirty foam inside? How do you know to adjust the air screw etc.. If you can give me a lecture it would b great :)

srry my English is not that great.

It would have been funny if you said Engrish instead. haha

But the break in period is basically just the skimmer removing particules and manufacturing oil from the plastic. In about a week the bubble level should rise by itself in the neck. After that you will be able to adjust the skimmer to your likings. The more air you let in the wetter the skim will be. Likewise the less air you left in the muddier the skim will be. Good luck with it.

I have had my tunze skimmer running for a few months and its important to keep the water level constant. It will not work right if the water level fluctuates.

Adjust the air screw to get the skimmate how you want it. It does not need to be adjusted too much but by a little turn you will notice a more wet or dry skim. Sometimes I adjust too much and I will notice several hour later a full collection cup mostly water.
