tex5620
A buddy of mine just bought a Blue Spot for his tank and was wondering how to quarantine him. The LFS will keep him for a week but after that he is done. He has a QT running but doesn't have any sand in it. Will the pvc pipe be enough or does he need to add a deep sand bed to it. He wants to Quarantine for about 6weeks because the last fish he bought there had ick show up bout 2weeks from purchase and never had problem before. Better Safe than Sorry I told him. dopamine
hmm...this one is more involved because of their lifestyle. I would think putting sand in there would defeat the purpose. I mean I guess it might help with lowering stress but would have to be removed is disease or problems arise. My tail spot blenny really liked having locline in the QT tank. It was curved and dark. sorry, someone here has 2 blue spot jawfish...dont know if he QT'd though. Link to comment
abe
cover the QT or it WILL jump with no sand. and interact with it. from what i hear and read these fish enjoy interaction and might even eat out of your fingers. and some type of piping would be a good idea. Link to comment
tex5620
definetly will have some pvc pipe in different places so he can choose where he likes. If the pipes are long enough I think it will have plenty of shadow. Sand bed will definetly defeat purpose if he has to treat. Does anybody have or know of anybody with experience Quarantining these fish advice appreciated. Link to comment
