rhogeo
Help! I've noticed two problem areas that have cropped up in my BC 8. The tank has been up a little over 2 months. All water tests are great. The first are these little red bubble things. the second is some green stuff growing in a couple of areas. The green junk is not "climy", feels like Chaeto (which I have both in the second chamber as a fuge, and in a soap dish in the tank). Here are some closeup shots, along with a full frontal shot of the problem areas.. Thanks for any help you can send my way! Link to comment
Md's Finest
Not necessarily bad. Some people let algae like that grow and just keep it trimmed. It's really a matter of prefrence. Just dont let it over take your tank Link to comment
matty0206
Depends! They are both forms of bubble algae or Valonia. If they get out of control you can manually remove them just try not to pop them and grab as close the the rock as possible so you maybe get the root also! Link to comment
Sexy Shrimp
They don't spread that quick IME. I like them. Just don't pop the bubbles! Link to comment
rhogeo
Thanks very much! Someone at my office said "pop one and see what happens.." Glad I didn't listen to the idiot. Link to comment
