Dnuts82 Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I have a blue mushroom colony and one of the polyps is secreting a stringy ooze out of it. It is shriveled up...at first i thought it was splitting but i'm not so sure anymore. Anyone know what's going on?

geekreef_05 Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Assuming the ooze is white, it means your mushroom is unhappy. This is where we need more information on your tank... size inhabitants flow rate sal, temp, pH, ni, na, am, etc most importantly: how long has this been happening? when did you get the shrooms? what have you changed in your tank before the shroom started acting up?
O-man21 Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 It's possible it got torn by a fish, hermits, rock falling on it, etc. They shrink up and ooze when that happens. Another possibility, do you have any more aggressive corals close to it that could be stinging it?

The other mushrooms on the rock seem fine though.
