caponeman
I have had difficulty keeping a CUC in a Mantis Tank since the Mantis will eat most inverts such as snails and crabs. I have found that my 5" Peacock Mantis does not mess with Lettuce Nudibranches. Also, I have had luck with Sally lightfoot crabs. Not sure if my Peacock is not interested or just can't catch the crabs. Lastly, a Tang helps too for algae control if you have a large enough tank. I am sure there are other inverts that will help as well as keeping pristine water quality (I had a hair algae outbreak waiting for my Tunze 9002 to arrive). Please post your experiences as well. BustytheSnowMaam
I have these small snails in my 10 gallon tank that I originally bought from IPSF. They self-reproduce so I always have plenty. I'll just take one from my 10 and leave it outside the mantis' lair, and he eats it. I also feed mine small salad shrimp. I have a Carib mantis, about 3" long. So far with what I've been feeding him, he hasn't been tempted to eat my astrea snails or hermits. If he does catch one once in awhile, no big deal. Link to comment
