Waterproof
I'm thinking of starting a pico (3-5gal) that will serve as a small grown-out tank for my softies. I've got a kenya and some GSP that is going crazy, and I thought I could frag it and let the cuttings mature in the pico until I can trade them with a local LFS. It could also act as a quarantine tank for incoming frags. So far, however, all the tanks I've looked at have clip on lights or uncovered hoods. I don't want to deal with the evaporation of an uncovered tank, so I'm looking for a covered hood. What can you recommend? Since the tank will have esentially no bioload, I'd like to keep the maintenance as simple as possible (weekly). Also, I've thought if building a tiny fuge into the back for a small batch of chaeto. So, the hood would need to project its light into the fuge portion as well. I'd appreciate any ideas. Thanks, J. Link to comment
clownfish1124
you could always do a basic 5.5 with versa top Link to comment
Matty1124
2.5g and 5.5g have pretty nice glass hoods with hinges and everything for real cheap... just get your self one of those and cut out a notch for the hob filter and any light can go above it... or just get yourself one of that enclosed tanks at petco or anypet store really and mod it to fit your needs...it would be a bit more but it would look nicer (if your good at DIY) Link to comment
