clownfish1124
Hi everyone! very stupid question: can i keep sps under t5's without individual reflectors? i would like to keep a monti cap or an acropora in the "top shelf of my aquarium", ideally 3-4 inches below lights. Link to comment
circusordie16
i assume itd be 48W judging from your signature tank dimensions? id say definitely montipora and birdsnest, and probably an acropora but id start with the montis to make sure everything else is going well before trying the trickier acros. clownfish1124
What about for a 28 watt fixture? i think the bulbs are NO, not HO tho. Current and coralife make these, current as aio retro and coralife as a fixture. Links: Current Version Coralife Version Thanks as always, Clownfish1124 Link to comment
Aqua newbie
Just be aware that when you do water changes the corals may be exposed to air. Link to comment

lakshwadeep
+1. Corals can survive for a while underwater. When I bought my shrimp goby/pistol shrimp pair, the store owner had to completely dismantle a nanocube. That meant taking out all the live rock and corals into a bucket with no water. BKtomodachi
On the main topic, though- no, I would not do SPS under NO bulbs, ever. T5's in many cases is fine. Link to comment
