rhogeo Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Is there a thermometer that will record the high temp over a period of time (until it's reset)? My Biocube is in my office, and the temp is a nice 72-74 all week long, but on the weekends they turn the air off. I'd like to get an idea of what my temps are doing without having to travel in and check them. I assume one way would be a ACjr ? I have the Coralife digital unti, as well as a good ole glass one that I use as a backup to make sure the digital is accurate, but wondered why Coralife and others haven't added a feature showing the high (and maybe low) temps since last reset. Thanks! - geoff
evilc66 Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Tom's has one that has a resetable high and low temperature memory with alarms. Should be able to pick one up at Petsmart (as well as others) for about $30.
smoknta Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Petsmart is where I got mine. As mentioned above it has a high and low temp memory until reset and it also has a preset alarm.

I have 2 of these tom's aquarium thermometers on 2 different tanks and I really like them. My Ranco controller is set to keep temps between 80-81 and the thermometers constantly show a low of 80.1 and a high of 81.0 so I'd say they are very accurate.
StevieT Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 be high tech. put a web cam on the temp display and put on the internet
rhogeo Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 Thanks guys! StevieT, you never cease to amaze me with your out-of-the-box thinking! My kids are already asking for a webcam setup so they can see the tank from home.. Me, I am already looking at a larger tank for my Xmas present. I thought I'd be happy with the BC 8, thinking that I'd just have a little reef, but once you get hooked, there's no stopping! I should have listened to that voice in my head and gotten the 29 gal. After reading StevieT's threads on the RSM, I think I'm sold on it also. I think Red Sea ought to be sending StevieT a check, as he's helped sell a lot of people on the RSM..
