BLUESEA Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Hi, im a noob on this website and ive recently just set up a rsm for almost 5 months now but now i just notice that the fan on the hood is making very loud noises whenever it is on. Is the fan in the hood getting clogged up with dust or is it stuck. Any members with the rsm have the same problem?
StevieT Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Yes, a lot of us had had this issue. It is not with dust or getting stuck, the older fan model is junk and dies after a few months. Mine went out after around 3-4. contact Pinky and ask for new ones, they should be under warranty, but you will have to do the install yourself. It isn't too hard but involves DC wirring, basically skip what they tell you and splice into the existing wirring, it is easier than routing it to the inputs. If you want detailed pictures please click my signature, go to the first page which is indexed. Find the fan install section and click, I have a few pictures there on how I did it.
