marinekeeper Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I am wanting to start soaking my fish food in a vitamin supplement. Can anyone tell me of a good supplement to do this with and what is the proper procedure? Thanks in advance.
DRLenox Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I use Kent Marine Zoe. I don't really know if its a good one but it seems to work fine. I just let my brine shrimp soak in it and they turn kinda green.
Sexy Shrimp Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I use JBL Koralvite. Its really good and highly concentrated so you only need a few drops.
Lord Sevein Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I sometimes soak my food in Selcon in order to encourage my fish to eat for the first time or when I introduce new foods. This really helped me get a new Swallowtail Angelfish used to eating dry foods - after a week he would start to eat the food without the Selcon. Now I just use Selcon once or twice a week for feeding. Depending on the type of dry food I do different things: Cyclopeeze (freeze dried) - I put a pinch in a syringe and add a few drops of Selcon. I then take up some tank water in the syringe and shake it up and squirt it in the tank. Most of the fish in my 90g almost leap out of the tank trying to get at it! ;p Pellets/Flakes etc. - I just soak what I'm going to feed in a bottle cap. A couple drops will do it. Then i just dump it in. Most of the time it won't make the bottom. ;p -Sevein
hazmat Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I got a free sample of Seachem Vitality. I soaked my frozen in 1 cap of it, drained it and dumped it in my tank. fish loved it but they always act like they are starving!!
marinekeeper Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 Thanks for the responses. I was thinking about trying vita-chem. Heard it is a good supplement plus it encourages fin regeneration.
