BChen7106
Hey all. I've got a 10g setup with 80w CF lighting. I have a frogspawn frag that I wanted to try to spotfeed with some table shrimp, but I'm not exactly sure how to do it. I tried cutting up some pieces of shrimp to about 2-3mm in size and just lay it on top of the polyps, but nothing really happened and the shrimp just sort of drifted off (even though I turned off the pumps). Is it even possible to spot feed frogspawn? How small should I cut the pieces? How long does it usually take and how do I know when the frogspawn is actually taking the food? I've also got some green star polyps and zoanthids. Can I spot feed those too? Link to comment
colinadam
I feed mine with thawed mysis using a turkey baster. Gently drop the food on top of it and it will catch some. Link to comment

I've tried feeding live baby brine shrimp (in addition to the table shrimp), but I don't see the frogspawn actively taking anything. Or at least I can't tell if they're taking anything. How do you tell? Link to comment
hazmat
I think Frogspawn only needs trace elements and light. I've tried feeding mine and the same thing....it does not pull it into it's mouth or anything. I read that all it needs is light. I also read another thread that said if you want to kill your frog fast then try to feed it. Not sure what they meant by that but that is what it said. Link to comment
fiction101
It's pointless to feed frogspawns. Link to comment
Scott Riemer
It really doesn't need to be fed. Edit: Well, except light of course. Link to comment
bad ed
I tried to feed mines a few times and it never took anything in. Its been months and its growing good for me. Link to comment
BChen7106
Yeah, it's growing fine, just thought I'd try to supplement. How about green starpolyps or zoanthids? Anyone target feed them? Link to comment

gulfsurfer101
I had an oscar who loved french fries when I was younger, come to think about it that's probably why he died. Link to comment
BibleSue
Some of my zoos grab food if it floats by & some don't. I have palys that grow faster when fed mysis. Link to comment
Zero-2-Sixty
I fed mine thawed mysis and it ate it up like a fat kid does cake. that was probably why it grew too big for my nanocube. they dont need it tho Link to comment
BibleSue
I tried feeding mine when feeding other tankmates a few min. ago. It just dropped it. I tried a smaller bit of mysis & it didn't eat that either. Oh, well. The crabs are happy! Now we know mine doesn't need to be fed. Link to comment
reefone
my frog eats like a pig. i just set some mysis on it and it closes up around it. Link to comment
dsoz
I feed mine 2-3 times a week pieces of freezed dried plankton. Hydrate them by squeezing them in the water for a minute or so, then on the head by the mouth. Turn off pumps until it is ingested. Some of the heads I have will eat, some will just let it float away. dsoz Link to comment
