volk23
Guys, i want to upgrade my light fixture on my 30g glass finnex nano. I currently have the T5 95watts version. I cant invest into a chiller right now, and my tank does get about 82 degrees in the summer with the current lights. I have no idea whats a good/quite fixture. I'd like to get some more wattage for the tank, maybe something that will do ok if i just get some cooling fans. Any recommendations? I can spend about 300-400 bucks on this. Thank you in advance. Hi. I live near you (Verona) and in the summer a fan lowered my tank temps with a 150 mh enough where I didn't need a chiller. (Last summer at least. This will be my 2nd summer.) I have an open top by the way. edit: I use an azoo fan too. Link to comment
volk23
are the azoo fans loud? my tank sits right next to the tv, so its kind of important to keep the tank on the quite side. Link to comment
masterbuilder
Not to be a smarta$$, but that seems like enough light for just about anything. Since a 6 lamp fixture is too wide for the tank, all thats left is MH. I am not sure you will be able to run a MH without a chiller since your tank already hits 82 with your current fixture. I guess if I were going to suggest anything and stay in your budget: Current-USA Outer Orbit http://www.oceanreeflections.com/headings....0USA&page=1 Link to comment
Crackerballer
24" Outer Orbit with T5's Link to comment
volk23
24" 255 watts total, 50 watt HQI, 4-24 watt T5 - you think using a azoo fans will cool it off enough? Link to comment
