caitie
Hi, I found this thing on my live rock last night. Today it stretched out its tentacles to grab a small piece of seafood, which it rapidly ate. It is mauve and the tips of its tentacles are white. I'd love to know what it is and if it is likely to cause trouble to a tiny LTA that's in the tank. Thanks Link to comment
dsoz
Try searching strawberry anemone. Lots of information. Mostly harmless. It probably will not survive long unless you feed it on purpose. dsoz Link to comment
c est ma
+ 1. Pseudocorynactis--many common names, and actually a corallimorph, rather than a "true" anemone. Very cool and interesting guys, IMO. Here're some links from my Pseudocorynactis file: “Fish-eating anemone,” “orange ball anemone,” “strawberry anemone.” (But actually corallimorphs!) http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/oct2002/invert.htm (Scroll down to last section) http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...ctis+corynactis http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...p;#entry1320875 http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...seudocorynactis Corynactis pic: http://www.dwpicture.com.au/photos/39118b.jpg HTH, --Diane Link to comment
