peasey Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Depending on how it happened, it should be fine. I have had FDs in the past do the same thing only to pop up a few weeks later with a fresh new crown, albeit a little smaller. The last one that I had was being attacked by my jumbo Cerith Snails, so I pulled him out and put him into my wife's NC12DX and he's been fine ever since.

But the question is...what is stressing it out? If you can find out it should be fine. But if whatever mad it angry in the first place continues to happen to it then you may have a problem.
krankykris Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 I forgot where I read it, but lack of nutrition usually causes a deather duster or coco worm to drop it's crown. Either something hassling it and causing it to retract mose of the time or no tasty treats in the water. Are you dosing plankton at all?
