Scott Howard
I want to ditch my old swing arm Hydrometer and get a Refractometer. Brands? Models? http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/pet_...cfm?c=3578+4690 Thanks, Scott Link to comment
Izzysreef
Ive got a ZGRS-10ATC refractometer. It has it's own built in light so you can use it even when the lights are out. I've had it for about 4 years with no problems and it works a lot better than my old swing arm or floating hydrometer. Link to comment

Models? http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/pet_...cfm?c=3578+4690 Thanks, Scott I have the $100 one & Weetabix7 has that one. They seem to be just as good. Way more accurate than the Hydrometer. A must in my book! Link to comment

HankB
here is a good one: http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/m...Code=Hydrometer That's the same one that Drs Foster and Smith sell for $45 and the one we bought. Be sure to spend about $5 more and buy the standard solution to check calibration regardless of the refractometer you get: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod...fm?pcatid=18717 More on that at http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-12/rhf/index.php#20 -hank Link to comment
StevieT
+1 get the calibration solution I have the $45 one from premium aquatics, same at the doctors. works very well Link to comment
SaltWaterNewb
The biggest thing is you want to make sure that it has ATC. There are folks here that have the ebay ones that seem to work just fine and the Dr. Foster and Smith one is very popular too. That is the one I have and it seems to work very well. Link to comment

They have inexpensive analog types, but the most accurate is their Palm Abbe Digital: http://www.misco.com/products/AQUAR-H20.html MISCO Refractometer specializes in all kinds of refractometers. masterbuilder
That misco digital refractometer is nice...but...it better be for $435! I think I will stick with my $50 Dr. F&S unit. Link to comment
