bluesky Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Just a general question. Do you guys do a reef dip or a Lugol's dip for both LR and corals? I wonder what you dip the fish and inverts in to ensure the pests do not get into the tank ...
bluesky Posted May 5, 2008 Author Posted May 5, 2008 skip the dip - use a QT tank. I always have a QT ... but I thought you should also remove harmful pests and etc ... before putting them into QT? or else something bad (e.g. isopods or nudibranch) could be in QT and you could carry that into your main tank ... that's just my thought process ... any feedback on this ?
r20crazy Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 I dip everything in flatworm exit (1 drop per 2 cups sw), rinse in NSW, inspect visually, then qt. I also re-dip anything when transfering between tanks. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
vangvace Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 3-5 min freshwater dip for zoas. Everything else I don't bother.
