Screename_116 Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Right now my tank is bare bottom. The reason is because I don't like sand blowing every where. So I was thinking, what about a thin layer of Florida crushed coral for the bottom? I've always heard CC is bad for raising nitrates, but how bad?
sdunkin Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 It traps deitrus, which causes nitrate issues. Personally I would go bare bottom than have to worry about the PITA that is crused coral.
Screename_116 Posted May 3, 2008 Author Posted May 3, 2008 Ya i'm doing BB right now, but I have a fuge under my tank and I want to have a reverse photo period for my fuge..but the light shines up to the display. I guess i'll have to block it some how.
