i dont have a sunpod, but if they are standard 5mm LED's you can get them on ebay or at radioshack(or the like)

Well these LEDs are connected to something like a computerchip. So can i buy the chip with the light or would I somehow have take out the light.

The "chip" is most likely just a current source. LEDs like current, not voltage.

Most likely, any "high power" 5mm LED will work. If it burns out, it was cheap.

I am working on a sunpod retro with new PS useing 1/2W 100ma superflux leds. Already tested on my unit and there is so much extra blue light that it is clearly visable with the MH on, & it is variable so that you can dial in the amount of actinic you want haha, yes they are that bright! :) Is total sickness.

Not to hijack the thread, but do you happen to have any pictures/more details on you SunPod retro? I have been considering tweaking mine to make better use of the LED area and I am lookign for ideas.
