NixSeattle
Having some temperature spikes, nothing dangerous (yet) with my BC29. It's come along, got some livestock in it at last, but I'm having some temperature issues.. increased flow using 2 x Koralia Nano's and fitted a Koralia flo. Removed the plastic "lip" and the bioballs, replaced with filter/floss combination and chemipure elite. Temp was stable at 75/76 until I changed the standard outlet to the Koralia Flo. Temp is now 78-80. Anybody have any ideas how I can get this back down before I have issues of 80+ temps? Link to comment
intheb0x
maybe the power head puts out heat? i got a modded bc29 but 78-80 is decent temp. 75/76 is too low. what i do is leave the back hood open and the front if i think theres going to be a issue. Link to comment
Brian Crook
Most people will agree that the ideal constant temperature is 79 degrees. So it sounds like you're in the clear. Keep in mind of course, the more electronics you put in the BioCube, the more heat transfers as well. It's not so much an issue of temperatures being 80, 81, 82.... 84, whatever.. The issue is if your tank has constant fluctuations of temperatures as that can really take a toll on the livestock within. Granted keeping temperatures as close to 79 as possible is ideal, basically your tank should continue to thrive if you can just keep the temperature fluctuations as limited as possible. Instead of having a tank that fluctuates from 77 to 84, adjust your heater (and perhaps your pumps/lighting) so that it only fluctuates from 79 - 81. You may benefit from posting this question in the beginners section as well to get other opinions. Link to comment
