How fast to add Top-off?

This might seem like a stupid question but when i top off my BC14 how fast should i put the water in? I top off 1/2 cup in the morning and 1/2 in the afternoon. How fast should i pour the water in. I do it really slow. Like 1 drop per second. And it takes me like 5 minutes. Can i do it faster or not? Cause when i do it faster i see the less dense water going into the saltwater and diluting( when you see the swirl thing).

I just want to be super safe. How fast do you guys add it?

Thanks

I just pour it in, out of a gallon jug. Usually fast and without care. Put it in the back. As long as your not keeping anything that gets easily hurt, you'll be fine. I keep LPS and softies in my bc14 and have added up to a half gallon at a time, though I don't recommend that much at a time.

Hey NR man

You should see me pouring it in (am looking to buy an ATO)....I do add to the back of my AP, but at least a half a gallon when I do pour it in. I don't drip it in either, lol. Floodgates!!!!

Expect to add a lot more on Tuesday...supposed to hit 97 here. UGH.

I do it drip style but i have setup an IV drip line into the skimmer return so it mixes fast and so i can just fill the bag and let it drip while i do whatever i need to do :P

Ya this sucks tucson is getting hot right now.... I wish it could just get cold and stay cold. LOL But ya back to the question... i put it in the display not the filter cause i have tons of flow there and don't want to mess with the filtration or kick up anything if there is anything. Thanks for super fast responses.

Its too hot for too long here. Have yet to see a rattler, scorpion, bobcat, bear, javelina, mountain lion or tarantula. I HAVE seen coyotes and black widows.

And even with central air, a topless tank evaps horrifically fast.
