na.lamar
I had a fish die due to stress since I cycled with cycled with one which I later found out was a no no. I have a emerald crab which has been feeding on the dead fish. Should I remove the fish or just let all the inverts eat the fish as another source of food? If just left alone will it foul up my water? Link to comment
abe
if the tank is cycling, i think the dead fish should help expedite the process... Link to comment
aquascaper08
Havine the dead fish in there your wate paramaters are prbably off now. Test the water and see what they are and i they have spiked a lot you want to get the other animals out also because they will die to. Nothing smell worse than a dead snail. You cycle is in its active part and probable will take a week or so to level back down.. Even at that point wait a week or so before putting animals back in the tank,. The longer you can hold off the more stale the tank will become and lesson the chances for disaster in the future. Believe me i know it is hard, my Nano was started on 17 days ago and my spike is going on now. Cant wait to put animals in but I know I have too. good luck Link to comment
na.lamar
My tank has cycled tank is over 2 months old. I actually got the fish a few days after running it thanks to DeathCo. I no longer go there and actually go the the LSF who has help steer me in the right direction. I tested the water and everything was fine. Ammonia was still at 0, nitrites were at 0, and nitrates were at ~10. Link to comment
lakshwadeep
dead fish do not expedite the process. You will have to wait longer than before for the cycle to finish. It is not "bad", just an inconvenience. Link to comment
