fishez4alivin
she didn't want to spend a car payment on coral...WTF? thought they were around 50-100 bucks apiece, I have to get the skinny on the cost of these...she said the other two were a hot pink and hot pink/red, I may have to go and see those after doing some research on prices.... heres a no flash with just a single Blue+ bulb and super actinics And with flash with flash is exactly what it looks like Link to comment
o0xerog0o
Very cool, but I'm also interested in the cost... I love how the underside is blue. Congrats! Link to comment
FateX9
if they were the real deal hot pink ones then those go for a LOT, usually around 100 per polyp you can usually find them on fs forum for 50-80 Link to comment
reefdan
where'd she get these? i live in the bay area too Link to comment
fishez4alivin
where'd she get these? i live in the bay area too [/quote She got it at Lucky Goldfish in Oakland, in the display tank he has 3 more, two are the real hot pink ones, one is a baby, around a quarter in size...150.00 The large one was 200.00, and a red one was 200.00, the higher priced ones are ~2.5-3" in diameter. He has several green and beige ones in the side tanks. They are high priced over there, even if you bribe them with crab, and spend $$$ they don't really negotiate. I must say, that I have never had anything I've bought there die, or infest my tank. Hunter can get almost anything you want, he actually knows a lot about coral/fish still can't believe she spent 200.00 for a coral... but like everything else in the Bay Area, we bend over and get it dry everytime, compared to anywhere else in the country.... Case in point....paid 4.25/ g for reg unleaded today....120.00 to fill up the truck Link to comment
fishez4alivin
Very cool, but I'm also interested in the cost... I love how the underside is blue. Congrats! This one has an orange and pinkish base, along with the blue underside, it actually looks like it's dropping a baby, I will take a pic of the orange/pink base tonight, it's really cool. I found out the cost is as follows: for the really nice pinks, hot pink, multi colored red, with the white stripe, 2-3.5" diameter, are all 200.00, for the little quarter sized pink was 150. for the green, or beige, more common colored ones, like rainbow, they are 30-75.00 Link to comment

Nope, two different operations, isn't it Lucky Pet Shop in SJ? It must be the same place as I remember when i was in college. Man amazing those places can stay in business for so long. I showed this to my wife and she approved a pink one too ... thanks to you So for Yumas, I heard they are not as easy as ricordea. For wild yumas ... you might want to ensure it stablized in the LFS before you buy it ... hate to lose a $100 or $200 after a week. I heard the pink ones are hard to keep. Any maintenance tips for Yuma lovers? Link to comment

Any maintenance tips for Yuma lovers? I keep mine in low flow, and low light. Yeah these are imported, but like I said, I have never lost an animal from them, been lucky in that regard. I went in there a couple of days ago, and there was one hot pink yuma 2.5", and there was a little pink one with a baby, and one green yuma. He gets his stuff on Tuesdays. Glad to hear your wife gave the thumbs up, just be prepared to reciprocate in the near future Link to comment
