FloridaBoy704
Ok so I was sooking at my LR through the side of my tank and noticed a piece that had a milky substance in the crevices. One is about the size of a dime, the others just form in the circles around it. It looks hard bec one of my hermits was sitting on it... i thought maybe a sponge but it really just dont make sense. It hasnt seemed to spread or develop any sort of tentacles and the surface looks smooth. anyone have any ideas?? sorry no pics but my digital cam suffered the wrath of my neice when i wasnt looking. StevieT
dead coralline algae nothing to worry about, normal part of any cycle or if it is exposed to air for a period of time. Goes from purple to white Link to comment
FloridaBoy704
Thanks for the quick reply. It just looks really strange and kinda pretty tho. Thanks again. Link to comment
StevieT
If that is what it is, it was once purple. You will have it grow on your rock and glass over time. I have it everywhere. Normal part of keeping a reef, it is kind of a pain to scrape off the glass at times. Means you have a healthy tank with all the correct trace elements. Link to comment
