Thor amboinensis and Epicystis crucifer

Being from different oceans, are they compatible in the context of a host/symbiont pair?

Or more precisely, will the latter eat the former?

Somehow, I have the feeling no one has ever tried it :)

My assumption is that it would work. Sexy shrimp are pretty fast - they never bothered my shrooms and rics, and rock nems are fairly slow and pitiful in terms of food catching abilities.

That's what I thought, but I was going to stuff ten of the anemones into a 5g tank, and I wanted an easy-to-get shrimp symbiont; I have no desire to try and track down Atlantic Periclimenes sp. I guess I could get one sexy shrimp and see what happens before getting the whole brood, lol. :)

Can you update on your post? I have a Thor amboinensis and I'm about to get an Epicyctis crucifer pretty soon. Will be good to know if the are some incompatibilities betweem them.

Oh, this has feelsbatman all over it.

Caronte, I'm sure you are unaware of this. Unfortunately Jer cannot update this because he is no longer with us. I don't mean this site either.

Unfortunately, I can't be of any help with your question. I've never tried the two together. However, it's good to see members using the search function.

Thank You for respond me, and my condolences to jeremai family about their lose/

I notice that you are a moderator in this forum, so maybe you can answer me to another question: I noticed that many stores advertise in this forum. Are they trust-able to buy blind on them or they're just sponsors and I buy on my own risk?

thanks again for your input

While most sponsors are great companies to do business with, this certainly doesn't mean all of them are. Just look through their subforums and in the vendor trader feedback forums. You'll figure out which ones you'll want to do business with pretty quickly.
