New CPR Aquafuge

I purchased a used AF, and am going to be cleaning it out for a while. It came with a nameless PH (maybe AquaMedic??) and was debating running a Maxi1200. This will be going on a 20L. The flow might be a little ridiculous, but so is this PH it came with once I scraped all the yuck out of it. Posting pics after I get it all clean.

Is the Maxi a little too much?

haha... I'm not sure... I had an Octopus 150 on my old 40B tank and I had a guy in my local reef club mesh-mod it for me. It didn't take but a minute and it looked easy... I just can't remember how. I'll ask him and see if I can't get him to e-mail me pics of ow its done.

Well, I ended up going with a surplus Rio90. The reason for this was an article from Dave Levinson, stating several good reasons for not leaning on your 'fuge's return for flow, instead, using other means. I bought a new Bak Pak 2R+ which has a Maxi1200, and will be running a Koralia 1 in addition to that.

Gunk as in nutrient export? It is a little too soon to find out of sure. the 20L had a diatom bloom die out about a week or so before the 'fuge was installed, so can't really give you experience-based testimony. Given the contents, I am sure it will do fine...

I have a large chaeto ball, prob 3-4 lbs of LR and 1.5" of LS. There seems to be a semi-dense population of small creatures (pods and such) all over the place. The rock has a few different types of macro, to include grape and feather cal. tiny nass. patrol the sand bed, and a emerald crab (if I can find and catch it) will be going in there as well. I run a small bag of carbon and PhosGuard.
