ddk997
Hey everyone I have a 12 gal nano cube and I am unsure how high the water is suppose to be. I was told the back chambers(2 and 3) should have water over flowing the split. However, once I put in my skimmer, the water in the main tank rose and the water in chamber 2 and 3 sank below the split. Thus causing my main tank to fill up with water leaving approx. 2-3 CM below the back wall. Is this how its suppose to be? Link to comment
BassAssasin
Can someone please chime in? I have the 12G nc DX and i was told that the water in 3 should be lower than the rest, when i remove water from it the whole tank drops, when i fill the tank so does it.... any help please? Link to comment
jennifro
I have a 6 gal nano cube. My water does not over flow in any of the back chambers. I keep it about 1/8 - 1/4 inch below the level of the lowest dividing wall in the back. This makes the level in the front pretty high. But so far so good. When I first set it up I spend forever adding a little water and taking some out to get it just right. And then I realized I didn't have the little surface skimmer thing on over the intake so I have to start all over. The good thing about that is once it is on and I get the water just right the skimmer thing sits just as it should when I have the top open or closed. A little too much water and it goes above the top edge and not quite enough water and it won't stay in place. I have only had mine for about 5 weeks. I am very new too so you might want to see what other people have to say. I do have my brother advising me though an he really knows what he is doing. Link to comment
SPerry
Put the surface skimmer on so its top is barely below the top of the false wall. That will set the water level in the display area. Then add water so the level is just above the slit between chamber 2 and 3. Link to comment
bad ed
Put the surface skimmer on so its top is barely below the top of the false wall. That will set the water level in the display area. Then add water so the level is just above the slit between chamber 2 and 3. thats exactly how mines is set up. If you dont have the surface skimmer yet, go and buy one or better yet make one with an old cassete lid. The surface skimmer will keep you display water at a consistant level. You will see your water levels in the 3rd chamber fluctuate with evap. On a side note, this is my 100th post. It is a small milestone but nonetheless a milestone. Link to comment
YeahitsK
I had that problem when I set up my nanocube 24. The water in the main tank was so high it reached the plastic covering the lights. As others have said the problem is the adjustable surface skimmer thing before the overflow not letting water through the "combs" fast enough. Try lowering it first and if that doesn't work you might have to dremel/file it to make the gaps larger or break a few "teeth" off the comb. I had to do that with mine. Link to comment
