geekreef_05
Ok, so after a couple years I now have SPS (and other corals) growing all over my glass. When things overgrow they tend to get everywhere. In particular I have 2-3 SPS corals which have hit the glass and grown both upwards and downwards. I would like to remove these corals and place them in a larger tank. Any ideas on how to do this without breaking them? Im not sure how bonded to the glass they are.. and so I fear trying to wiggle or slide them out as Im thinking they'll break. Link to comment
jeremai
I have a montipora that is growing against the glass. It doesn't stick at all, not like a soft coral would. Give it a nudge, it should move as if it weren't attached. *disclaimer - not responsible for a super-sticky sps Link to comment
abe
i never had this problem so wouldn't know how to fix it, but could you try a razor blade? Link to comment
AcroporaLokani
would try a razor blade but you probably would end up chipping a few pieces off with any method. Link to comment
nanoty
Pardon my SPS ignorance but if it broke off wouldn't it be just like fragging it? Link to comment
geekreef_05
Yes it would be fragging it. But why do i want to frag my nice big peice's of SPS? Chicks dig my huge SPS. Uh-huh. Link to comment
Reef Goddess
A razor blade should work. But don't ever let them grow onto a plastic overflow, thats a royal pain to remove. Yes it would be fragging it. But why do i want to frag my nice big peice's of SPS? Chicks dig my huge SPS. Uh-huh. Link to comment
proraptor2
Use a razor blade....It will come right off Link to comment
geekreef_05
Plastic Overflow, eh? Whats the story behind that Reef Goddess? Link to comment
Reef Goddess
On my old 58 a few years back it had an acrylic overflow, some montis grew onto it and were damn near impossible to remove. Its like they bond harder to acrylic or something. Link to comment
