yax75
Hi there I am interested in getting into this hobby, and was wondering which books would be good to read before I get going. I did find some in another post but I cannot seem to find them again. Thanks Link to comment
BustytheSnowMaam
A couple I liked: The Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert Fenner Clownfishes by Joyce Wilkerson I also have another book I haven't read yet called Clownfishes by Richard Stratton- like I said I haven't had time to read it yet but flipping through it the pictures are very good. monkeytrumpets
I'm a big fan of The Reef Aquarium: A Comprehensive Guide to the Identification and Care of Tropical Marine Invertebrates By Julian Sprung and Charles Delbeek I only have volume 2 atm, but I plan to get volumes 1 and 3 soon. rhino79
As a newbie myself, I bought "Natural Reef Aquariums" by Tullock, "The Conscientous Marine Aquarist" by Fenner, and "The New Marine Aquarium" by Paletta. All three of these basically have the same information. I would also buy PocketExpert Guide to Marine Invertebrates and PocketExpert to Marine Fishes. Link to comment
lakshwadeep
+1 for Conscientious Marine Aquarist. All of the Delbeek/Sprung books are like encyclopedias of reefkeeping. Link to comment
kookie_guy
I liked "The Nano-Reef Handbook: The Ultimate Guide to Reef Systems Under 15 Gallons ". Says under 15 gallons, but tonnes of great info in there. Link to comment
Sexy Shrimp
The Simple Guide to: Mini Reef Aquariums - Jeffrey Kurtz The Nano-Reef Handbook - Brightwell Natural Reef Aquariums - Tullock Marine Aquaria - Nick Dakin Corals: A Quick Reference Guide - Julian Sprung Amazon seems cheaper than Ebay for books... tinyreef
second rhino's suggestion of tullock's Natural Reef Aquariums, one of my favs. also agreed on solo's sprung & delbeek's TRA I~III suggestion but another choice instead of theirs could be fossa & nilsen's Modern Reef Aquarium series. i find their easier to read and sometimes more applicable, textbook/TRA vs. coffee book/MRA. hth Link to comment
