Im getn ready to move my 12g cube to my new place about 30min away. My question is should i take it all down and put coral /rock/fish in bucket and travel with tank empty?? or just take some water out and hope for the best that coral/rock dont come crashin down? i thinkn to be safe i better take everything out..My next question is can i setup tank and put livestock in right away when i move in, tank has been setup for over 1yr? any suggestions/tips anyone can give on moving tanks would be great!! Thanks

I suggest taking out your corals & fish and putting them in separate containers (corals separate from fish/critters). Try to stabilize the rock so it doesn't roll around & crush the corals. If you have a substrate, empty most of the water out, but leave enough in to keep the sand/whatever wet. It doesn't need to be fully submerged, but as long as it's wet it should be fine.

Of course, do this whole process as fast as possible to reduce stress and other problems. You could save the tank for last, or just do it first, but either way, do it all at the same time.

Transporting water in a vehicle is usually a challenge if you don't want it splashing around, etc... Rock would most likely shift & tumble on the way there.

I agree with the removing of critters and coral (assuming its not stuck onto ur rock). Perhaps it mite also be useful to "pad" the rock work with sponges and things so they won't shift too much and won't scratch anything. You should probably also wait for the water to clear a little before adding the fish back in. I imagine that cloudy water would be like thick smoke for them.
