My first nano reef - BioCube 8

Hey everyone. A little back story first: I inherited an established Eclipse6 with a clown and a damsel. No coral or live rock in the tank and no modifications to the tank in order to support that anyways. Of course I didn't know that until after I got it. Once I had it in my possession and did some reading, I learned there was no way that tank would support the critters I wanted to put in there. So I finally made the plunge and bought a BioCube 8 last week and I think I'm ready to start cycling. The clown is still in the old tank and I gave the damsel to my LFS because he was a bit too aggressive. I've just finished reading stallin's fantastic post about his BioCube 8 (Link to Post). Theres a lot of great mod ideas in there which will probably come in handy in the near future. I wanted to share my short term plans with you all and get some feedback. Here goes:

Currently the BC8 is all stock with the exception of the pump which I've already replaced with a Mini-Jet 606. My next step is to replace the bio-balls in chamber 2 with some crushed LR and some filter floss on top. Chamber 1 will contain the heater for now but I'm thinking about putting a bag of chemi-pure in there as well (?). Im going to replace the stock nozzle with a hydor-flo deflector. I plan to put about 8-10 lbs of cured LR and fill it with water from my LFS's established tanks.

I'd love some feedback. This is all new to me so there maybe something I've missed. As soon as I get my LR arranged in there I'll post some pics.
