FISHEYE
I had recently bought a yellow head hifin Goby (I think thats the proper name), and he seemed happy in his new surroundings for over a week. Sadly, this morning I found him on the floor, perhaps too stressed about the movement the day before... In any case... I am looking for a Goby or a Blenny that would suit a 16 gallon bowfront, keeping in mind that I have two small false percs and I would prefer not having to worry about it jumping! Simplicity is best, I don't really want to go for the rare kinds, but suggestions welcome! Link to comment

Well now that that's out of the way, I would suggest aclown goby of some sort. They wont jump and are small. Well, I was informed that he might jump witin the first few days, so I had covered part of the top and kept an eye on his behavior. He seemed to be happy with the different cave options. My tank is a high tank as well and from some experience with our other fish tank (28G bowfront), the gobies seemed to hang around the bottom, which is what this one did. What I think trigerred his jump is the problem that I had concerning a mushroom rock. I had to remove a problematic rock and move other corals around, leaving him a few less hiding options and stressing the poor little guy out . In any case, the size of my tank and the setup is not very condusive to a glass or covered top, therefore I want to limit my risk of losing any fish. Link to comment

LSUtiger
I've had clowns jump in the past as well (maybe poor water conditions) about 2 years ago when I first started reefing. This time around, I built a netting/cover for my 20g. I stole the idea from the following link. Check out post #69. http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...tting&st=60 I couldn't risk losing another fish to the carpet....especially now since I have a 2 year old who loves Nemo, both the movie and the name of her fish (shocker). I don't want to have to explain to her what happened to the fish or rush to the store to buy a replacement without her knowing. I have some HOB stuff on my tank, so there is a small 1" wide x 4-5" long gap near the back of mine where the fish could still jump. Oddly enough, that is there hangout spot. I think they are scheming. I will probably come up with something to put over that opening for peace of mind. Some people use eggcrate. I think the netting does a better job of not creating shadoes or impeding the light (from what I've read). Hope this helps. Mark Link to comment
