avaneaton2000
I want to find out what everyone is using for their return pumps, I am stuck between a Mag5, a Quiet One 2200, and a Rio 1400+ for my 15g display tank w/ a 10g fuge. I have heard mag run hot but this could just be hear say. Thanks in advance! Adam Link to comment
justaguy2
I use a MaxiJet 900 on my 12 gal and MaxiJet 1200 on my 24 gal. Link to comment
hammer294
I have a 20H with 10g sump.....i originally ran a mag for the return and closed loop and i found they ran hot and were too loud for my liking. I then went to the Ehiem for the return and Oceanrunner for the closed loop....both very quiet and run cool. Only difference between the 2 is the size of the pumps. the oceanrunner is much larger......i would say go for the best u can buy. Link to comment
eddie29
eheim and panworld....not a single thing better in my opinion Link to comment
DESERTHEATRACING
I have a cheapy genx1500 and LOVE it. Was like $35.00 and can sling 396gph at 0' head. Can easily overpower my cpr50 overflow so I know can at least push it's rated output. Had it for 3 months now. http://cgi.ebay.com/Gen-X-GX-1500-Submersi...7QQcmdZViewItem Link to comment
glennr1978
I have (I think) a QO2200 on my tank. It hasn't given me any problems so far. Link to comment
avaneaton2000
I should have been more specific this tanks has 48" of head height not including flow reduction for 90's and other fittings, I think I am going to go with the quiet one 2200 it is only 40 bucks flows almost 600gph is quieter than the others, uses less watts per hour, and has a max head height of almost 10'. The Eheims are crazy expensive and I can't even get the one I need. Thanks guys! Link to comment
controlsreefer
eheim 1260 the best i have ever had Link to comment
yankeereefer
I have a QO3000 on a 20H w/10g sump - Close to 48" head - 1" pipe, .50" locline on x2 returns, a T, at least 4 90's, a 45, 2 ball valves and a union. I still crank down the output a little, but I wouldn't change it Link to comment
Phixion
I run a Rio 14HF in my Finnex 30g. It's the only pump (well as big of one as I could get) that would replace the stock pump in plug 'n play fashion, and it's almost nearly indenticle in dimensions and look too. Link to comment
avaneaton2000
Another one for the Quite One, I looked at the others but the price on the QO is 1/2-3/4 of everything else. If it sucks and breaks I can still replace it for less than the others. Thanks for the fast response, I had a thread in the Beginners forum and it barely got any hits. NR is the BEST! Link to comment
