mtuttle02
Tank looks great so far- I like your taste Can you post a picture of your back chambers? I have been thinking about adding a fuge in my tank. Thanks Mike Link to comment
Cesar
What do you have inside the fuge after all? I'm looking into getting this tank also. Can you take a picture of the fuge? Are you using that skimmer that comes with it? Link to comment
alex101
I am using the skimmer that came with it, all I did was take out the mechanical bio media and sponge etc and in its place put some live sand, live rock rubble and a ton of cheato and a snail. I then built a refugium light for the back. Link to comment
Cesar
Oh I see. Is there a way to add a chiller to that far left side if you remove that ATO? Can that come out and place the pump that powers the chiller? Link to comment

Can that come out and place the pump that powers the chiller? Yeah, In fact thats exactly what I'm going to do. I'm going to be keeping the ATO and just drilling another hole for the tubing for the chiller. It should work out nicely, but I'm waiting because I want a certain kind of hosing that looks alot nicer and I have to order it off of the internet and I figure I might as well get a nice sized order together before I go ahead with it. I'm actually going to be getting some VHO actinics at the same time for the off hours of the halide. I'll have pics as soon as it happens, I'm assuming by the end of the month. Link to comment
alex101
New addition, found a place within 10 seconds of being in tank. Sexy Shrimp is ALL ABOUT IT!! Link to comment
alex101
Well....Long story...but I ended up getting PAID 4 dollars to take this carpet anemone, I couldn't pass it up. So hopefully he won't grow much more till I'm ready for setting up my 90 gallon reef. But he's looking healthier every day Link to comment
jwalsh1
Hows the Solana coming along? I just picked one up and am studying how to set it up. Im using exactly the same set up as you but am considering drilling and installing a sump in the cabinet, but I like the simpler approach to just having a small fuge in the back. Still working out for you? Link to comment
slandsaw
That's a beautiful tank! I'm so going to upgrade - just have to convince my wife first. Link to comment
alex101
PICTURE UPDATES! A little explanation of what I've gone through in the past year. Needless to say the carpet anemone melted away about 2 days later so that's no longer with us. I then had a traumatic "melting of my tank" due to me forgetting to change the settings back to normal on my heater before I put it back into the tank. Needless to say temps hit high 90's and I lost ALOT. So I've been in the process of rebuilding and revamping my tank since then. I still have my original clowns, and watchmen. I got each of them their symbiotic life partner. A BTA for the clowns and a pistol shrimp for the watchman goby. Everyone has been very happy and my corals have been doing amazing. I'm getting great zoanthid growth as well as full polyp extension on my leather toad. My pavona has been going sweeper crazy for the last month and that's about it. I will pick up a frag here and there when I'm around a shop but for the most part i'm just being patient and letting things grow. I do 20 percent water changes weekly, and dose once a week and do phyto every other. Bulb is a 14k ushio and I also run a 50/50 T5 setup simultaneously. All questions and comments are welcome. rick4him
So after a year of a nanowave, I've decided I need to upgrade to a bigger tank. So I went out and picked up the new Current USA Solana 34 gallon seamless cube with 150w Pendant halide.I've just started cycling today, so I'll be updating with pics as they come along. Let me know what you guys think and I'm also looking for a possible clip on refugium light....any one heard of one? Links? Thanks I just bought one of these, and I'm using the stock skimmer. I noticed in your pictures you left the bio balls and media in the skimmer . (Not the stuff in chamber 2) The LFS guy told me to take out all of those bio balls. (chamber 2 and the skimmer) The water in the chamber area sounds like a rushing river. Is this why? Should I put all of those balls back in? Also my skimmer keeps popping up...is that normal? Like its sort of floating... Link to comment
rick4him
Ok, It's been a while since I updated my tank profile. I have made some changes. I now have 2 mp10'2 , Tunze 9002, and a Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155. Things are ok, but I need to work on my placement of things now since many of these corals were bought as frags and have grown in now. As always, I"m open to advice / suggestions. Thanks! _DSC4743 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4691 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4692 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4693 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4694 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4697 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4698 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4699 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4700 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4702 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4730 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4761 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4752 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4766 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr (he likes to eat snails!) _DSC4773 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4775 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr _DSC4714 by RickwSmith.com, on Flickr Link to comment
