pinballwizrd315 Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Ok so I have a 20L in my room. I had to get a dehumidifier in my room because so much of the water evaporates. I was just thinking how clean the water that the dehumidifier takes out would be. Do you think you could use that to top the water off? I really dont think the water would be good but I was wondering what you guys thought.
pinballwizrd315 Posted December 31, 2007 Author Posted December 31, 2007 I didnt see any but I cant see a lot of it.
pinballwizrd315 Posted December 31, 2007 Author Posted December 31, 2007 So if it doesnt have any copper you think it would work? Should I get the water tested?
dshnarw Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 don't those things have copper pipes? Almost all of them use copper coils to catch the water. If you decide to try it, get it tested for dissolved organics and copper at the very least, along with a reading for total dissolved solids (TDS).
Daemonfly Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 It won't work. Been thought of before, been asked before, turned down each & every time.
Scott Riemer Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 I guess I just don't understand why. Get a RO/DI and make pure water for mixing and top-off. Water isn't so expensive that you need to recycle it from a dehumidifier, even if you could.
