MiMiC
The second picture is of a Carpet Anemone i purchased yesterday. The guy at deathco, told me it was a carpet anemone but did not know exactly what species, it was only $27, i had to get it,plus i have two false percs that I would have loved to host it. At first I thought it was a green carpet anemone because it has a tint of green on the stinging cells, along with a whitish stripe pattern on it as well, I read WHITE is not a authentic anemone color - and is otherwise noted as bleach which indicates poor lighting quality. It was at petco for a good 3 weeks, as no one bought it. After reading and reading I concluded that this anemone is a "Saddle Bag" Anemone or atleast I think it is, they are known for having white stripes, and as far as I read they are the ONLY Anemone that has so. My clowns havent hosted it yet, if they dont I wont worry about it - although clowns love Carpet Anemone's perferably, the Saddle bag, or Clarki clown fish would most likely host it Immediatly. Someone please correct me if I am wrong and help ID this Carpet. Thanks!! Link to comment
MiMiC
Well it finally excreted, my anemone that is. At first I thought it was dying because the mouth came outwards, and it shriveled up and started to excrete this thin brownish stuff, it wasnt alot maybe an inch long if that and it only happened two times, this is the first time ive seen this happen, but then agian ive only had it three days, and I fed it yesterday, which I thought it was just "Using the bathroom". I read if it continues to do this daily, its a bad sign, but every so often not bad? Anyone with Anemone info, and ive read alot but I like 1st hand Info from people who have experienced it, 1st hand . It is now happy and extended, mouth has retracted inward (normal) and I moved the light closer to the front of the tank, it was pushed more towards the back to do a 50/50 light cascade, but who looks at the back anywho.
